'Waking Up Dead': More Information Revealed About Documetary's Theatrical Run
July 25, 2005Eris Productions and PTP Productions have announced that "Waking Up Dead", the new documentary starring former SAIGON KICK/SKID ROW drummer Phil Varone, will be making its theatrical debut in New York City on August 26.
The film will be played at Tribeca Cinemas in lower Manhattan, located at 54 Varick Street (at Laight Street),with multiple showings throughout the day. Tickets may be purchased at the box office and more information can be found at www.tribecacinemas.com or www.wakingupdeadmovie.com. Pre-sales are highly encouraged, as the seating is limited.
Director Fabio Jafet says, "I am ecstatic that this film is receiving a theatrical run and that people will finally get to see what the hype is about. There is a great underlying message under all the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll that anyone who is a fan of rock 'n' roll should experience."
More cities are expected to be added in the coming weeks.
The film takes the viewer through four turbulent years in the life of Phil Varone, former drummer for the rock bands SAIGON KICK and SKID ROW.
Varone says, "I traded everything … my family, friends and finances … all for my addictions and the world of sex, drugs and rock and roll. 'Waking Up Dead' is a great lesson on life for anyone who watches it."
Bands contributing to the soundtrack include TEMPLE OF BRUTALITY (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson and W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland),MATT KRAMER (ex-SAIGON KICK),BEFORE BRAILLE, FIVESPEED, RANDY COLEMAN, MINDFLOWER, CREASE and F5 (featuring former MEGADETH bassist David Ellefson).
